Jerry Horton

I began my insurance career in 1997 as a broker for an insurance agency in Central Texas. Throughout my career, I helped develop and drive the overall strategy to launch and distribute supplemental health products for a variety of companies. As President and CEO of APL, I’m excited to lead a team of amazing colleagues to serve our broker partners, employer groups and insured customers. Our goal is to provide innovative products and deliver exceptional service. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three teenagers, playing golf and watching collegiate sports.

Dianne Aycock

I began my career at APL at the age of 18 in the file room. Today, my teams include Customer Service, Policy Issue, Billing, Claims, Commissions and Information Systems. I enjoy that I’m challenged each day to work with excellence and have opportunities to be a blessing to our customers and our colleagues. Our goal is to delight our customers; when a customer is delighted, so am I! Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and reading.

Casey Shirley

Two weeks after graduating from Oklahoma State University, my career in the insurance business began. Since 1997, my time in the industry has centered around sales and management in the group ancillary and worksite arenas. I find it extremely rewarding to be part of APL’s solution-driven sales team, helping brokers and insureds with any opportunity that is presented. In my spare time, I enjoy being with family, watching my children’s athletics and playing golf.

Since 2010, I’ve contributed to the evolution of the marketing team by utilizing my marketing and public relations experience in the financial services industry. As AVP of Marketing, I see each day as an opportunity to assist our broker partners with innovative ways to showcase our extensive product portfolio. I love that each day is different and offers new and exciting challenges. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and watching my daughter play on the high school drumline.

I began my career with APL in 2000. In my current role as AVP of Claims, I oversee all aspects of claims management, identifying and implementing new technology to improve and streamline claim processes. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and pets.

Walter Jacobs AVP of Information Services View Bio
Walter Jacobs

Prior to coming to APL in 2017, I held senior IT leadership positions in a variety of companies including American Airlines, Sabre Airline Solutions, Amadeus and L3 Communications. While in these positions, I was responsible for product development, business development and IT management, high-tech system integrations and deployment across global cloud-based applications. As AVP of Information Services, I lead a team of IT professionals that handle infrastructure management, digital information architecture, web development, data warehouse management and data analytics. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two adult children.

Michael Martocci

Throughout the last 25+ years as an employee benefits executive, I’ve developed and executed strategic growth plans for existing and emerging employee benefits insurance companies. I’ve had the good fortune to lead in the areas of Risk Management, Product Development, Underwriting, Operations and Sales Distribution. As a member of the APL leadership team, I’m committed to ensuring we deliver innovative solutions, while always keeping our customers and brokers top of mind. On a personal note, I’m the proud father of four sons—two in college, one serving in The Marines and a varsity high school football player. My wife, Sabra, and I reside in Charleston, South Carolina.

I joined APL in 1983, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different capacities throughout the organization. My current position as Manager of Customer Service allows me to do what I have enjoyed most, working directly with our customers. When I’m not working, I enjoy vacations to the beach or just spending time with family, especially my grandchildren.

I began my career at APL in 2011. As Technology Infrastructure Manager, I enjoy directing the ever-changing technical environment and identifying opportunities to improve processes through emerging technology. Every day brings new opportunities to improve our systems and provide business and customer service support to our internal and external customers. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and traveling.

Corinne Henyan

I began in the insurance industry in 2005. Most of my career has been spent on the worksite/voluntary side of the insurance business, concentrating on electronic enrollments, project management and evolving technology. At APL, I work to integrate enrollment platforms, add Artificial Intelligence (AI) processes to enrollments and help “future proof” our company through technology. I enjoy travel, adventures and spending time with my labradoodle, Gus.

I joined APL in 2014 as a Senior Software Developer, bringing with me an extensive background in insurance and a broad technical skillset. In my current role as Manager of Application Development, I oversee our business solutions needs including the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our claims and policy administration application. When I’m not at work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

Shannon Myers

I started my career in insurance when I joined APL in 2001. In my current position, I work collaboratively with actuaries, compliance and product development teams to help create group products relevant in today’s worksite marketplace. My role also provides me the opportunity to support the sales team by leading the underwriting team through the proper risk review of new and renewal groups for profitable sales growth. When I am away from the office, I enjoy reading a good book, spending time with my grandchildren and traveling with my family and friends.

Kathy Parker

I began working for APL in 2007 and during that time I’ve worked in a variety of areas including claims, finance and underwriting. As manager of APL’s PMO and Document Management, I utilize my LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification to help APL serve our customers more efficiently. My passions are faith, family and fiddle. On weekends, you’ll find me playing bluegrass music with my husband or snuggling with my adorable grandchildren.

Steve Toby

Before joining APL in 2021, I spent 34 years in a successful career at Guardian Life where I was responsible for all aspects of supplemental health, as well as dental and vision product development. As product manager at APL, I work with cross-departmental leaders to ensure successful creation and execution of a product development roadmap and effective training programs. I live in Livingston, NJ with my wife Kathy. Our son, Jack attends the University of Delaware and our daughter, Margaret, and grandson, Jaden, reside in Texas. When I’m not visiting with family or volunteering for the Livingston Soccer Club, I enjoy the Beatles and have an extensive memorabilia collection. Also, I swore my allegiance to the New York Mets in 1973 and have never wavered.

My favorite part of my job is building close relationships with all brokers and learning how I can make their job easier. I enjoy scrapbooking, spending time with my family and living a busy life with four children.

I began my career at APL in 2013. I started in Underwriting but my background in Customer Service eventually led me to my real passion, Broker Resources. I enjoy working alongside our brokers and helping them manage their APL business. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my four kids, two dogs and husband. On the weekends, you can find us grilling or out on the boat.

I've been supporting independent insurance brokers since 2015 and joined the APL team in 2021. Previously, I worked in the fields of Spanish bilingual education and international public relations in the U.S. and Europe. Coming from an insurance family, I'm passionate about fostering an understanding between brokers and the Home Office—making the onboarding process as efficient and effective as possible. I’m a lover of languages and enjoy problem solving, current affairs, traveling, gardening, spending time with my wife and family and listening to music.

My husband and I spend our spare time with our children and grandchildren. We also enjoy traveling and finding new and exciting places to eat.
